Book 2 in the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy. I actually finished it Thursday night, but I've been avoiding computers for the last few days. All I remembered about this book is that Simon spends half of it stuck in the Sithi city. It was actually more like a third, not that bad at all. It's a solid second-book-in-the-trilogy book.

Last in the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy. I've been working on it ever since I finished book 2 Thursday night. This is a very very large book (when it came out in paperback they had to print it in two separate volumes), and so it took me a while. I had remembered how it ended, and certain scenes from the end, but not how it all came about. It was great to experience the twist at the end again, and enjoy the happy ending (sorry, spoiler, it ends happily). Overall, these books are a lot more complex than I'd remembered, and even better than I'd remembered, and they were a lot of fun to reread.
All right, now, moving right along to nonfiction about stealing ancient artifacts from the Holy Land next.

yoga # 29.5 / lovely Friday off
May. 10th, 2009 07:13 pmI had a lovely yoga practice Friday morning. Yes, Friday morning--I had a dentist appointment at 9 AM, and then a dermatologist appointment at 4 PM, so even though I could have made it for a half day's worth of work in between, I decided to just take the whole day off and enjoy it. It was honestly a really lovely day. I was done with the dentist by 9:40, so I walked up to the farmer's market, then headed home and did some yoga--an hourlong practice that was really nice and refreshing. After that I vaccuumed the house, had a nice lunch, and relaxed and read my book during the afternoon. Then I stopped at Borders and the library on my way to the dermatologist, and was out of there by 4:30 so I still had the whole evening ahead of me. The weather was beautiful, and it was a lovely day.
