I will try to keep up with my morning fitness program to the best of my ability. Four jogs in August--that's about right. I also had 11 yoga practices, all but one of which were in the morning.
I miss taking dance classes, but the CLR isn't doing an adult dance series this fall like they did last year--they're doing a 12-week ballet class. I'm kind of interested but also not really. 12 weeks is a long commitment, plus I'd have to miss at least two weeks because of my honeymoon. So I'm skipping. I will probably take their African dance class in the spring.
I will work to step up my yoga practice.11 yoga practices, or 325 minutes. A good record. I also did some tourist yoga in August--Yogaphoria in New Hope. I also read an issue of Yoga Journal and finished the Iyengar book. Good progress this month.
I will continue giving to charity every month.August's donation, as noted earlier previously, went to the
"The Dude Hates Cancer! Charity Bowling Event"!
I will try to spend more time outdoors. We did okay at this--didn't make it to Ridley Creek Park in August, but we walked down to the farmer's market every week and walked around Louisville, KY while we were there. I also went for a nice hike in the Swat woods while F was away on his business trip--I felt like laying around and reading a book, but I also felt like enjoying the beautiful day, so I did both and hiked out to our favorite spot in the woods, laid down a blanket, and sat on it and read. That was a really nice afternoon.
I will try to stay calm while planning the wedding.Writing is going okay. I've got 45 pages of poems right now. While F was away, I put them all in a rough order, but then I had another idea and I have to go back and rearrange them all. But I'm also seeing that I have a ton of work to do on many of these poems, so I may wait to work on them as a whole manuscript until I've done some revision work.
(What follows all counts for September rather than August, but it happened and I don't want to forget it for next month: I told Rhett and Renee both that I would send them poems for the literary journals they edit, and Rhett's fall submission deadline is September 30, so that should be a kick in the butt for me. I also sent ten poems to some friends for feedback, which so far has been very helpful--Susanna caught some interesting things, some that I was aware of and some that I wasn't. I'm looking forward to seeing what Xina and Emily have to say. I have a sense of which poems I want to try sending out first, at least.)
