supercheesegirl: (mst3k - rock & roll martian)
So, I just got this new icon. And I was inspired to go look for an mst3k episode list, so I could figure out which episodes I like best.

Highlights:
- Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders (which features the rock and roll martian)
- Girl in the Gold Boots (has the best theme song EVER)
- Track of the Moon Beast (Stop Talking, Johnny Longbow!!!)
- Prince of Space (I like boot blacking VERY MUCH!)(HEH HEH HEH HEH)
- The Thing That Wouldn't Die (Where's the TRAYsure?)
- Parts: The Clonus Horror (just because it's awesome)

So much awesomeness. And so many episodes I've never seen! I need to get these on dvd. Sigh.

::edit:: I forgot about Angels Revenge!! ("I'm really really running!")

Some of the lines just stick with you, don't they? I haven't watched an MST3K episode in years but Jorn and I still quote them *all the time*.

My favorite of all time is The Attack Of The Giant Spider, where everybody puts their foot up on something whenever they talk to somebody else. My mom and I still do that when we want to be silly.

Exactly! When I'm feeling very affectionate I tell Jorn how I love him even more than bootblacking. I love how everyone has their own favorite memories and lines from this show.

I'm not all that familiar with the scifi channel seasons, but I wouldn't mind catching up... I need to see if they still play them anytime. I have cabinets full of tapes from the comedy central period (I even have several pre-season-one episodes)... I was a fan.

I covet your collection!!1!

Let me know if you want any. A lot of this stuff is, you know, unavailable forever, so I wouldn't mind making copies.

Unless, of course, it's illegal, and then I would of course be all law-abiding like the saint I am.

well, I certainly am quite against any and all violations of federal, state, and local ordinances. But, barring any illegality, I would be much obliged if you would do some dubbing for us sometime. Especially the really old things that are impossible to purchase otherwise...

I've actually never seen any episodes that didn't have Mike. That's how late I got to the game. Pathetic! I have so much to learn.

Maybe I'll try some dubbing and see how it goes. I have most of the first five seasons after KTMA. Hmm. Some amusing ones that come to mind:

207: Wild Rebels
301: Cave Dwellers (actually "Ator the Blade Master")
310: Fugitive Alien
Pretty much all of season four, leading to the two hours of horror that is "Manos, the Hands of Fate"

Sometimes Mike showed up in the early ones as strange characters on the viewscreen, or in Deep 13.

Wow, you = more hardcore than I. I'm most familiar with the scifi channel seasons--I've only seen one or two episodes that had Joel instead of Mike. My videotape collection is from the scifi channel, because my mom would tape them for me on Saturday mornings and mail them to me in NC.

Oh god... you know, I like Mike a lot — he makes me laugh — but there's something about Joel that's indescribably cute. I like them both, for different reasons. But I always missed Trace Beaulieu after he left. I never liked his replacement as much.

And some of those early episodes are just classics... some hilarious, and some truly horrifying (like Manos: The Hands of Fate).

HEH ... HEH ... HEH ... HEH ....!

I do love me some Prince of Space.

I heart MST3K

As a kid, I loved this movie called "Quest of the Delta Knights". Then that movie disappeared off the face of the earth until a few years ago when I just happened to catch MST3K doing it. And I taped it. And they are my heros.

You know, I thought about you the other night, when I was thinking to myself, "Life-giving Burdick's chocolate, nectar of the gods! Rox is refreshed and can continue her research."

And Quest of the Delta Knights was hilarious when MST3K did it!

Yay! Nectar of the gods! I also have the MST3K Oscar Special from 1999. Their re-dubbing of Titanic is amazing. My fav: As Titanic leaves port, there is a shot of the captain smiling as Tom Servo says, "I'm going to sink this bitch."

I never heard their redubbing of Titanic!! OMG!

The special is only about half an hour long and they do most of the nominees from that year, not just Titantic. It's pretty great. We should plan to meet up at a place with a VCR and I will bring it. Because it is half an hour of pure joy.

You and I have so many things to do when we eventually meet up. We should really do that one of these days. Are your finals over yet?

No. Finals are still going. Le sigh. But we should totally get together though. What is your schedule like next week? Email me!
