so my life phuckan rules, bra. i have four jobs but none of them are giving me trouble--they're all staying within the allotted time periods and not getting in my face. so that means i have lovely free time. am i using that free time to clean my apartment, you ask? no, of course not! this weekend, i used my free time to finish reading my fantasy trilogy (the "Memory, Sorrow, Thorn" trilogy by Tad Williams--The Dragonbone Chair et al). and reading it this time around, i noticed several discrepancies in time and other things that didn't add up right, besides lots of typos, but this encourages me--it means that that publishing house must need better editors (ie, me). :)

on sunday, i used my free time to read the newspaper and clip coupons, and then i installed Livin' Large on my computer. i hadn't played The Sims in months, but now i can't escape--i am at once enchanted and kinda pissed off. pissed off by the fact that although i now have five neighborhoods to put sims in, the sims can't socialize across neighborhoods. i didn't realize this, and i built an awesome house in neighborhood #2 and moved a bunch of people into it and got them all started with jobs, and then i noticed that none of the people from neighborhood #1 were stopping by to meet the new folks. so obviously they can't get together. and i don't think there's a way for me to move the house over to the other neighborhood, even though there's a few empty spaces over there--at least, i don't know how to move it (without posting it online and then importing it back or something), and besides which it's now all furnished, and that took me like an hour to get it all how i want it. (any thoughts, mista brown?) also annoying was the tragic clown--i hate him so. but i'm enchanted by lots of the new features, including the huge painting of the guinea pig, and the woodcarving bench. when i saw the command to use it was "Make Gnome", i near died, and then watching him make the gnome was just awesome. every one of my sim families needs a workworking bench now. every house needs lots of gnomes on the lawn, and it's a much more interesting way to get the mechanical skill points than just reading a book.

so, i typically name my sims after people i know, and fiddle with the characteristics so that they sort of resemble the real person in their appearance and personality traits. so my jorn sim now has a guitar, and i'm trying to get him started on a career as a slacker or a musician. right now he's in law enforcement, and it's just not working out--he got shot last night and lost two body points. :( but he and the rox sim are getting along great and have fallen in love, but she refuses to move in with him no matter how many times he asks. :)
