bandits are cool
Sep. 2nd, 2002 10:57 pmso last night i did some grocery shopping, ate a tombstone pizza and watched Teh Mummy with jorn, and then talked to my mom on the phone for a while. they were all excited to hear from me, and no unsavory stuff was mentioned, so i'm guessing we're just not going to discuss that again. fine by me. and my mom was really busy all week, since she's back at school now, which was just what i had thought. and jorn really liked Teh Mummy too, so i'm going to use another of our free rentals tomorrow to pick up Teh Mummy Returns. woo!
today we slept in, or at least, i slept in and jorn woke up for some reason and borrowed my car to take over his timesheet and pick up some milk, both of which he had to do anyway. then we ate breakfast and watched a pokevideo. we found out why Meowth can talk and walk like a person (other pokemon can't). i won't give it away, but i feel bad for Meowth--the poor thing is just looking for some love. Jesse and James are really more comical characters, but Meowth, in spite of being such a smartass, has some real depth to him. unlike Ash, our hero, who is a complete putz sometimes. so yeah, basically jorn has sucked me into his little pokemon obsession, and now i can't escape and i'm dying for more videos. ack.
anyway, then we played some scrabble, and then we watched Bandits, which is one of my favorite movies. i loved it so much because of the twist at the end, because i was totally in love with the characters and wanted good things to happen for them. and i won't say anything more than that, because you should go rent it yourself, silly. then, after we had watched all the little "making of" featurettes they put on the dvd, i headed home to try to get some work done. i didn't get as much done as i had wanted, but i'll just have to put in some library time on friday, i guess. sigh. psy-yiiiiiigh-yiiiigh. duck.
has anyone heard from leilani lately? she was supposed to be coming over to the states for a visit this fall, but i haven't heard from her in ages. i should drop that girl an email.
