productive work, harvard perks
Jan. 22nd, 2004 05:03 pmtoday has been a good day. this morning i took advantage of several of my new harvard perks: i signed up for the T-pass discount program. i ordered discount tickets from the discount ticket sales office (for Disney Monsters on Ice!! as a valentine present for me and jornzor). and i joined the athletic center. there's tons and tons of yoga and exercise and dance classes i can take. i could take yoga every single day if i wanted to. starting february 1, of course, when the spring term starts up again. i don't know if that's when my membership starts or if i could go use the cardio machines before that. we'll have to see. we'll also have to find the actual athletic center building.
work was also productive. i typed up a tape and a half's worth of dictation for Kip's new paper (you won't believe how fast i can type the words "punitive damages" now). i went out to lunch with regina and karl and met a bunch of other admin ladies. the staples order arrived and i distributed it. well, i only distributed it to myself and joe and made a pile to send to neda, but still. and i logged the new JRU submissions, made folders, sent acknowledgement letters, and put together an envelope of JRU stuff and mailed it to Kip. so that's all good. tomorrow i'll hopefully finish up with the dictation tapes so i can proof that or at least read it over, and then work on some of the figures if DeYett has had a chance to finish those numbers.
also tomorrow, sarah b is coming to visit me! i should call her tonight, to see what she's going to want to do on saturday. we could go to the aquarium, or to the science museum, or just go jeans shopping or something.
i might get paid tomorrow. i also might get paid next friday. no one knows when the next payday is (Neda hasn't gotten paid for her work here yet, and DeYett gets direct deposit so she's got no clue when it occurs). i'm hoping it's this week, although i could hang on till next week just fine and then happily deal with the two weeks' worth of money. woot.
