last night i obsessively played Banjo Kazooie for a bunch of hours. i really like that game. the final world, Click Clock Wood, is really inventive and interesting. and difficult, of course, but it's still cool. after that, there's a game show that's pretty fun, but i haven't beaten that part yet. i still have a bunch more to do.
i looked up boston/chicago flights on travelocity. $161. that's way cheaper than boston/greensboro. the times are good, too--i'd take a half day on wednesday 3/24 and fly in the afternoon, and the flight back is sunday afternoon, so i wouldn't have to get up early to make it. i don't know what i'd do about hotel--i wanted to ask adam and stina where they're staying and if they could use another person (i know last year stina split a room with just one friend). but i hate to ask when i don't know if it's okay with work yet, and i can't ask my boss about this so soon. i'd rather wait a few weeks before i ask him. on the other hand, maybe adam and stina haven't made hotel arrangements yet and if i wait too long i won't be able to join up with them. sigh.
i should call stina soon anyway and we'll chat about the whole thing. but i really can't afford a room all by myself, and that would be boring anyway, so i can't really go if stina/adam can't fit me with them. i could always email the mfa crew at uncg to see if any of them are going, i suppose. but there haven't been a lot of mfaers who have gone, especially not last year (adam's thesis reading got stuck on that weekend somehow, so only david and carl and i went--more people went the year it was in new orleans). anyway, i have to do more research.
now i have to go buy myself some lunch, because we have no bread in our apartment. i can't take a bagel sandwich because while my office has a microwave, there are no toasting facilities, and i brought bologna and cheese rollups yesterday. i guess i could have grabbed a yogurt, but i didn't think of it.
