(a phone call)
Mom: Hello?
Me: Hey Mom, it's me. I'm at the grocery store, do you need anything?
Mom: Which store are you at?
Me: The Acme.
Mom: Oh God, you poor thing!

I don't know why she hates the Acme so much. She just does. It's not so bad there, really.

In other news, this morning Mom took my packed lunch instead of her own. Now she's got the hummus and pita bread I was all excited about, and I was left with crackers. I have already sent a snarky, guilt-inducing email to her work email address ("I hope you enjoy your lunch. I know I would have."). And it's funny, because last night as we were packing lunches, I was telling her how pleased I was about the special treat this hummus would be for my lunch and how much I was looking forward to it, and she said something like, "If that was my lunch, I wouldn't be looking forward to it, I'd be dragging my heels and not excited at all."

Hopefully she will buy herself a lunch she will actually enjoy and bring home my hummus so I can have tomorrow instead.

This week seemed like the first time Heroes was just treading water and not pushing the story forward. more on Heroes. )

I hate Lost with a burning passion. AND IT WON'T BE BACK ON UNTIL FEBRUARY 7 2007! more on Lost. )

For once something happened on Jericho last night. Actual action, as opposed to trumped-up, fake-seeming, contrived action, like the time the library caught fire because the power surge made the wires break and sparks flew off them into the books or whatever the hell happened and that one stupid kid wanted to go save a book and so of course they had to go save her. That was really dumb. But last night, more on Jericho. )

...Obviously I don't have much else to do these days. Mondays and Wednesdays are the highlights of my week. I have begun a new life here in Philly, and lo, it is ass-boring and dominated by TV.

PS. I heart my new icon.

Today's Scrabble game was awesome! My very first victory (in fact, the first time I've come in anything but last!). I got the X and put it in TAX, and got the J and put it in JILT. (I would have done JINGLED, but Christine blocked the spot where it would have fit--and it would've been a triple-word, too. Darn.) I don't think I've gotten any of the high point letters since I've been playing here, and it makes a difference. I was also able to place words like FLOURS and BOOM in strategic locations to earn decent points. Tariq was ahead of me the whole game, but then I was able to use the last of my tiles on MEND, and he got stuck with the Z and therefore had to subtract ten points from his score and I got to add ten points, and that made the difference. Final score: 130. And I get to keep the Scrabble crown at my desk all week!

Hey. It's come to my attention that I lost all my bookmarks from my old work computer at Harvard. As most of you know, I did a considerable amount of web surfing there, and I had a lot of stuff bookmarked there that never for whatever reason got bookmarked on my home computer.

So this is a request for links!

I am looking primarily for Lost-related links--Emily, you once linked me to a really good Lost fan site (it had a green left sidebar) and Sara(h), you linked me to that awesome site where they snark about TV episodes. But I will happily accept links to anything awesome that I shouldn't be doing without. Oh, like the dancing banana! I don't think I've ever had that bookmarked. So, yeah, hook me up, y'all.
