supercheesegirl: (watch out!)
I'm seriously considering getting one of these. Ordinarily I wouldn't even think about it, but last night I was out having dinner with EE at Crazy Dough's, and the TV on the wall was playing White Chicks at an insanely loud volume. We sat as far away from the TV as we could, like at the bar area in the corner, but we still kept getting sucked into watching the movie. Even though she had never heard of it and I had up til then been vehemently against seeing it, and we both thought it was stupid, we still kept watching it instead of talking to each other. It was very frustrating, and at the time I decided that I probably would not want to go back to that restaurant, even though their pizza was really good, because the mind pollution was so dreadful. But with one of these nifty little devices, I wouldn't have a problem. I think I'll look into it further after the holidays, when I have some money again. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ert for posting the link.

Just don't do it with [livejournal.com profile] nchanter around, you'll be caught and lynched. She can't even keep her cool while returning spam at a grocery store.
But I think I need one of those.

I wish I had one of those in high school. Then I could have saved the class from having to watch Channel 1 each morning...

but channel 1 was awesome! what better way to waste 15-20 minutes of class time than with oj simpson coverage and quirky yet pretentious billy corgan interviews?

god, now i feel dated. class of '96, represent, yo.

i'll give you this, though. channel 1 was no square one tv. MATHMAN 4-EVA. oh, and mathnet ruled.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, eureka!

holy crap, I'd think you were me... save for the Channel 1 stuff. Our school didn't let us watch TV, all we had was the radio.

But I still get that bird in my head every so often... ...5, eureka! Hooray!

that was my favorite mathnet of all time. i was so fascinated by the fibonacci sequence after that.

hooray for math!

Oy. It was a good excuse to sneak out in the middle of a two period AP chem test. It lost all its appeal to me when it started putting 5 minutes of advertizements into a school-sponsored tv show.
