Oh my god. This book was so indescribably beautiful. I want to go back and read it again so that I can understand all the things that I missed. There's things you don't find out until the end, twists, but unlike in that stupid Anita Shreve book The Last Time They Met, which I hated for precisely this reason, the twists that you find out about in the last two pages don't ruin the whole story for you. The twists in this book, which you've been sort of suspecting for the past 50 pages but aren't sure how it'll come together, actually do come together and in a way you weren't expecting, which is just beautiful. And I want to read it again to see how it happened. But this book, this book felt so right.
