supercheesegirl: (dentist)
I am very proud of myself. I hate making phone calls--I just do, I can't even call for pizza half the time--but today I hunkered down and got a lot done. I called my doctor's office, got a phone number for an allergist, and found out how to move my birth control prescription to a different pharmacy (closer to work). Called the old pharmacy for more info, planning on stopping at the new pharmacy after work to get it done. Called the allergist, made an appointment (it will apparently take over two hours to do the testing, but then at least I'll know how allergic I am to guacamole). Then called Amy's dentist and made an appointment for a checkup and cleaning. I am not going back to my old dentist even though I have no particular reason not to (other than that he was a bit too enthusiastic about the amount of drilling to be done in my mouth).

Earlier today I read all the stuff I have to read for my editing class. I am caught up on reading now, except for a recommended reading for the Maya class. I need to photocopy and edit my assignment for editing class, and I'll need to go over it at least twice and it's three pages long, but I don't think that'll take too long. It will honestly probably be kind of fun--the excerpts she's given us so far have been hilariously bad. And since today is such an insanely slow day at the office, I think I'll go start on that now.

I re-cancelled my first non-emergency cavity filling apointment at gentle dental. Unlike you I haven't scheduled anywhere else yet.

You probably should. You don't want a tooth problem again like what you had last year. Weren't we talking about this at the Leftons'? Part of my daily-flossing and appointment-making motivation is never, ever wanting to get a crown done again.

You are far more easily motivated than I.

Horrific pain doesn't motivate you?

not in the same way it motivates you, I'd wager. ;)

i have phone phobias too (which is weird, because my job partially revolves around the phone. but answering is ok. it's dialing i don't like) - and it makes me really lax about making dr. appts. i need to go to the dentist too... and the gyn. come to think of it.

Not unless I'm actively experiencing it, for a while.

I'm over 50 and I'm just starting to make peace with the telephone. You belong to a large, usually secretive group ;)

It's good to know I'm not the only one! Now that we know that, maybe Jorn will just order the damn Chinese food himself. :)

i don't want to bug amy right now with all her insanity, since you're going to her dentist, could you give me the phone # for them when you have a chance? = )
