Mom (to my dad): Peter, tomorrow I want you to dig holes out back for my new rose bush and lilac bush, and while you're doing that I'm going to do a little-- Me: dance!
(she was going to say "raking", but I thought my word was better.)
Maybe I've listened to too many Irish and English folk songs in my life, but I can't hear the words "rake" and "raking" without thinking them synonymous with "ne'er-do-well"... although in modern Ireland "raking" is just wandering about visiting, as they say.
