I was just looking for flights to Nashville, and so since I was on travelocity anyway I looked for flights to Atlanta for Dragon*Con. Travelocity had excellently-timed flights (arrive at 7pm on Thursday, depart at 1:45 on Monday) for $223, and booking directly through Delta's website dropped the price to $218. This is definitely the cheapest I've seen it yet--when I was looking last month the cheapest I saw was $265. Should I go ahead and book it?

I'd book it! Those time are good, too. Tammy and I were scheduled to leave around 5p on Monday but there really isn't much going on Monday and we ended up paying $30 to change our flight to an earlier flight when we got to the airport early.

The times sound good.

The FL crew will be arriving some time on Thursday afternoon; Nick and I are hoping 3-ish so we can check in promptly at the hotel. Thursday night we'll all go grab our badges—they usually stay open kind of late; I think we were there at 9pm last year.

Monday is usually pretty quiet. Last year we left around 3. The big thing on Monday is usually one last trip around the dealer room (or for me, getting one last hug from some celeb), and then hugging everyone good bye. I did go to one panel on Monday, but most of the tracks realize that people head home on Monday so there's not a lot of cool stuff going on.

I'm planning to post more D*Con information next week. I've got some hotel info for everyone and will post the FL tentative schedule. It's still a little too early for track schedules, but I'll probably post something preliminary in late July.

I booked the flights at those times (and cc'ed you the email with the flight info just in case). I would like to get back at a decent hour on Monday because I think my mom's having a Labor Day party, and this flight works out to put me at home by 5pm, in time for burgers on the grill. For the flight in, I'd ideally like to meet Chrysta at the airport and share a taxi/whatever mode of transportation is best in Atlanta, and she said she got in around then last year. If we're both in by 7ish then we should be able to get to the hotel, drop off bags, and even get badges before they close (provided there aren't silly complications with transport). So I think I'm well satisfied by the plans.

Yeah, and Nick and I will have all the rooms checked in, so basically we'll just need to meet up and pass off the keys to you lot. I imagine Nick and I will be anal and grab our badges earlier in the evening, but we'll go down again with you guys if we need to.

Meeting up shouldn't be too hard--we've all got cell phones, right? And once Chrysta books her flight we'll be able to approximate what time we'll be getting to the hotel, so you can know when to expect us.

I booked it, and sent you the email confirmation. It would rock if you and I could meet up at the airport Thursday night and share a (transportation) to the hotel!

Yep. I should have Chrysta's and Tammy's numbers still on my phone. I don't know if I have yours . . .

I'll post all kinds of contact info in my big D*Con post. It'll be fun.

My cell number could theoretically change during my move, so I'll give it to you closer to August. You might have it from when I came down to Florida, but I think I was mostly making plans with the Amy so maybe not.

Hell yeah!! I'll send you my itinerary when I book my flight, which might not be until next month. [livejournal.com profile] fairydarling and I will be flying together.

Last year we ([livejournal.com profile] fairydarling and I) took the train from the airport. It was really easy and cost $1.75 or some such amount. The train picks up right at the airport and takes you right to the hotel. It's sweet! We called Amy & Alli when we arrived, checked in, got our badges and then found an open restaurant and got some food. We saw Ron Glass eating at the restaurant!! Sweet!

p.s. You should consider friending [livejournal.com profile] fairydarling. I told her this about you, too. She hasn't been posting much lately but she's one of my bestest friends and she'll be in our room and all.
