books 2006: The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini

I really didn't want to read this book, but my mom made me, because her friend Bessie made her. And holy crap was it amazing. You wouldn't think a book about a bunch of Afghani men would be totally enthralling and heartwrenching, but there you go.
