it's really cold in greensboro. really, really cold. it was particularly cold on the way to the airport at 5am. y'all better show that boy a damn good time in boston, that's all i can say. oh yeah, and tell him he should bring me home a surprise. :)
in other news, thanks for the thoughts on the job thing. i am going to apply. the downside is that all of you will now get to hear me bitch about the pointless and annoying things one must do to be considered for an academic position. today i'll be stopping by career services to see about setting up my dossier. i also need to start figuring out how to set up a c.v. (particularly when there's very little teaching experience to put on there), and what on earth i should say in my "statement of teaching philosophy." sigh. i should probably also get a copy of my uncg transcript for my files, and a copy of my SU transcript as well (i have one from like senior year [when the registrar sent one to ME by mistake instead of sending it to the school i was applying to], but since it's from senior year, it doesn't have my final grades on it and stuff, so i guess i need the final one). i feel like i'm in over my head with the weird application process, and they probably won't hire me anyway. at least once the c.v. and stuff is done, it's done, and i'll have it for future job applications. (and part of me is wishing i still had my old work-study job in SU human resources, so i could surreptitiously photocopy my professors' c.v.s and use them as models).
might go to the movies with elan tonight. will be going roller skating tomorrow for rhett's birthday. i wonder if anyone's having a superbowl party? i need to research this job shit, and i need to write some more poems, and i need to research women's lives in the fourth century. sigh.
