I started and finished this one yesterday. I still think this is my favorite of the series. I love the Time Turner, I think that's great. I love getting more information about Harry's dad and his friends, I love how the Map insulted Snape, and I love Lupin. I think he's great.

I also like that this book had a happy ending without being unnaturally happy. Sirius had been in a crazy prison for twelve years; when he escaped, he was decidedly a bit unhinged and his actions reflected that. It wouldn't have been realistic or honest if the book had ended with Sirius's name cleared and Harry going off to live with him. I think this book gave me the first inkling that Rowling isn't really writing children's books here, because a children's book would be less likely to have that bit of realism. The books are funny and set in a fantasy world where magic works, but they're not childish books--it's a realistic world where scary things happen and people get hurt. And I liked that.
