supercheesegirl: (misty mad)
Good news: I received my two contributor copies of the Coe Review fall 2007 issue in today's mail.

Bad news: They spelled my name "Roxeanne". On the table of contents and on the poem itself, though not in my bio. Wow, way to completely spoil the awesomeness of getting a poem published.

I should have caught this before--they misspelled it in the acceptance email they sent me in November. Great, now I feel like it's my fault. What the hell, were they not even looking at my letter? Or at the poem, which had my name at the top of it? Or, hey, at my email address, which includes my correctly spelled name?

I have written to them to (politely) express my disappointment and my hope that they will correct the error when the issue is posted to their website.

Argh.

Guh, sorry about the name-chewing. I must say, Coe Review did seem a little flaky to me, which is one reason I've been holding off on submitting there.

Sometimes I get really tired of having such a common name, but at least I never really need to worry that it'll be misspelled.

I'm surprised it was the first name and not the last name. I've very rarely seen my first name get mangled like that.

Yeah, they are kind of flaky. It's run by undergrads, I think. Although I would never have fucked up somebody's name when I was an undergrad. Sheesh.

Argh, that's sucky. If it makes you feel better, I once had a journal that published my poem, but then left my poem and my name off the table of contents and bio sections entirely.

Maybe looking at corsets will cheer you up!

Too busy! I have to finish the laundry, pack, charge my electronic appliances, wash dishes, shave things, and get to bed early enough to take out the trash in the morning!

I have already: started the laundry, gone to the library to drop off books and get more books, cashed a check and hit the ATM, and paid all my bills. Including sending $700 to my one big credit card balance. W00t!

But I will try to look at corsets before bed. :)

And eat dinner!

Damn! Got to it. Don't worry about the corsets, we can look at those together in Vegas on the laptop. Congrats on the monster credit card payment.

And yes, definitely don't forget to eat. Talk to you in a bit!
