an update: no one has attacked me with an axe yet. i'm still on the alert, though. i hate creepy movies.
however, when i woke up this morning there was a small crew of workers outside my building. i think they were doing something with cement. their cement activities soon moved up the outside stairs to the ceiling of my kitchen porch roof, so that said workers were congregating on skaffolding right outside my kitchen door. and, due to the nature of their tools and work, they were being rather loud. my landlord neglected to notify me that this was going to occur, and i don't know if i should complain or not. i mean, my landlord has the right to do whatever work on the building, i'm not bitching about that, but it would be awfully nice if they'd let me know when they were going to have workers doing loud things right outside my kitchen door in the morning. and what if i didn't have curtains in my kitchen window? usually there's at least a sign up in the main stairwell when work's getting done. is this standard practice, or the kind of thing i can call and complain about?
also, does anyone have (i know this is a long shot) any of the books in the empire princess series by graham diamond?
