I'd thought Castle in the Air was supposed to be the "sequel" to Howl's Moving Castle, but then I spotted this book at the library with "The Sequel to Howl's Moving Castle" printed right on the front of it (I'd swear I never heard of this book but apparently it's been on my goodreads "to read" shelf for a long while). This book was a lot of fun. I read the first half last night before bed, which was a bad idea, because Charmain is kind of a lazy jerk in the first half of the book and also it got me wound up so it was hard to fall asleep. But Charmain experiences great character development over the course of the novel (and I'm not all that tired today), so everything came out all right. Jones's typical big all-threads-neatly-tied-up-in-the-last-two-pages ending wasn't as bad as usual; the ending felt more natural than it does in a lot of her books, and Jones gave it a little more space to breathe instead of cramming all the details in. I might say that this is one of my favorite books by Jones! Recommended for Howl fans (you really have to read that one first in order to appreciate the humor in this book).
