This book wraps up the dragonish mysteries first set out in The Farthest Shore and Tehanu, and resolves the plotline revolving around the dry land/land of the dead. We also return to the themes of womanhood and sexism that were present in Tehanu. In addition, this book has a bit of a big ol' reunion feel to it: almost every character we've met in Earthsea makes an appearance, but since it's the last novel in the series, this seems understandable and it's fun.
