We finished Freaks & Geeks. It's a shame, they were doing such great things in the last few episodes with developing the characters. They should have had a second season.
Started Game of Thrones. I've been dying to watch this, and I was so so excited as we watched the first episode. Then we watched the second episode and I remembered how devastating the book was. There's a reason I only ever read the first book (I loved the book, I just didn't feel like I could go on and read the next one right away). I'm wondering if I'll end up having issues with all the violence, particularly the cruelty and coldness of certain characters, but I want to watch it anyway. As violent shows go, I feel like I'll get more enjoyment out of Game of Thrones than I would out of, say, finishing Dollhouse.
We're also watching the current season of Community. It's not as good as past seasons, but I don't think it sucks, and there have been some solid episodes.
We left Friday Night Lights with Jason Street getting the job in New York and having a loving reunion with Miss Babymama. I'm happy for Jason. And I don't feel particularly passionate about moving forward, especially not when we have Game of Thrones to dig into. We'll be back soon enough, I'm sure.

Date: 2013-03-25 07:25 pm (UTC)From:I will say I enjoyed S2 of Dollhouse a lot more than S1. Once the show got away from Eliza as the doll of the day it was much more interesting.
I do have to laugh at an article I saw recently suggesting Joss Whedon is the mastermind behind a ginger conspiracy and the reason Dollhouse wasn't that good is because the cast didn't have any gingers, unlike all his other shows. (Though I suppose Angel didn't have many gingers in the main cast but, you know, it was a spinoff of a ginger-influenced show and apparently Angel had a lot of ginger guest stars?) hee hee!

Date: 2013-03-25 08:31 pm (UTC)From:Maybe with GOT it will feel less brutal to me because I already know who's going to die? I've heard that they stick pretty closely to the books, so I doubt they would off anybody when I wouldn't be expecting it. Although they could certainly make the deaths extra-gruesome. At least I'll know when to close my eyes? I'm already dreading--well, it's never a spoiler that Sean Bean dies horrifically in everything he's ever in.
I saw the ginger conspiracy article too! Too funny.
