Went to the Flower Show on March 7. This year Lauren had a work commitment and Lois moved to Atlanta last fall, so it was just Mom and Deb and me. The theme was "ARTiculture: Where Art Meets Horticulture", and it was pretty cool. The big central display when you walk in was very impressive and modern. None of the other displays really stuck out to me, though; mostly they seemed to be based on actual art, like a famous painting or a drawing, or to employ modern art concepts in some way, so there were fewer displays that were actually scenes and many that were more abstract. It was still nice, just in a different way.

The running joke of the day:
Me (to my mom): Oh, I love the Flower Show! I always forget how much I like it. I act like I'm only coming to be nice to you, but then I get in here and I get all excited.

For the whole rest of the day we kept referring to how I was just there to be nice to her.

What I do remember was the toffee stand. There was a toffee stand against the back wall, which we discovered when we couldn't see some of the actual flower exhibits because of all the people. Turns out there were free samples, and when we had some, we immediately understood why all those people were waiting in line to buy toffee. A-mazing.

I had promised Freya I'd bring her a flower thing. I ended up getting her a bird whistle, which she has blown maybe twice, but it only cost me three dollars so that's okay. It may come back into toddler vogue at some point. I also got a small adorable plush fox in a hat. He's hanging next to my bed. Freya calls him a tiger (and I mean he's orange and she has a lot more experience with tigers in hats than foxes?), so I guess he's Tiger the Fox.
