Reread this last week (finished on 10/23) because f is all about stories lately, and we happened to be at the library when they were doing a Harry Potter event, so naturally she wanted to know what was going on and why all these people were dressed up in long robes. You can see where this is going. Now I have to tell her Harry stories pretty much daily and I needed a refresher. Like I minded much.

I know it is old fashioned. It brought me such joy with my own child that I don't want others to miss out on the sensory aspects of reading.
I feel I owe keeping those things alive and passing them on. I don't just have an obligation to the new parents. I am also obligated to Ray Bradbury, Margaret Mitchell, Harper Lee and the Bronte sisters.
How could I ever face John Steinbeck? He told me how a character was so in love with a book he would burrow down into the pages and rise ups with the words covering his face and hands. I have to do my little part in keeping that alive.
Rambling . . .
