I enjoyed this conclusion to the trilogy. I expected most of the plot twists - that Tessa's mother would be a lost Nephilim child, that Jem would end up a Silent Brother - but it was still fun to get there. The use of a "red shirt" Silent Brother in the climactic battle cracked me up - when Brothers Enoch, Zachariah, and Micah arrived to fight, I was like, "Oh man, poor Brother Micah." It was also abundantly obvious that Tessa and Will would end up together, and Clare really got to have her cake and eat it too by figuring out an offscreen cure for Jem that would allow her to write more books about them in the modern era. But the cave scene was definitely hot, and Will's death scene made me teary. I guess what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter than I know what's coming, because Clare does a stand-up job of making it really satisfying.
