Finished this May 26. I really liked the conclusion to the series, although the whole subplot with Simon's memory at the end was really unnecessary. It was introduced and then resolved in the space of, what, three chapters? (I was reading an ebook, so hard for me to tell, but still felt fast). Once this idea was introduced, it actually felt appropriate to me; we'd seen Simon struggle with reconciling being a vampire with his love for his family, so here was a way that he got out of that and could have a normal life again. And then at the very end, Clary gets him back, because Clary gets everything she wants, but if Simon's going to Ascend then he's still going to have to give up his mom and sister and never see them again. Did Clary think about that at all? (Or is this a conflict I'm only inventing after having read the Infernal Devices series?) I did like the tie-ins to Clare's other series here, and liked the book overall.
