Five goddamn stars for this book. I absolutely loved it. So what if Cline could use some work on characterization? All the characters we meet in the virtual world sounds like identical sarcastic hipsters; all the characters we meet in the "real" world are barely outlines; all the bad guys are unequivocally bad with no redeeming qualities; we're seriously lacking in female characters; he puts an old lady in specifically to kill her off - but I DON'T CARE because this book was AWESOME. It is king of awesome nerd books. It was so incredibly fun to read. When I finished it, I went back and reread the last five chapters over again. I want to read it again right now.
