Actually finished this last night! Some of the stories were better than others. The only disappointment here for me was the ending to What Happened in Peru, which was up until that point completely excellent; the ending was just flat. There are some nice emotional moments (Alec's birthday!), one really good sexy scene (thank you, Ms. Clare), and some really hilarious moments as well (most of What Happened in Peru, along with the first date story and the answering machine, plus Marie Antoinette FTW). This collection of short stories reads, in all honesty, like Shadowhunters fan fiction. I'm not saying that's a bad thing - I'd give the book three stars - but it's clearly intended as a gift for Clare's fans. If you haven't read Clare's work, this is not the place to start, but if you've devoured everything and Magnus is your favorite character, to the point that you have imagined his fabulous antics throughout time, then you'll really enjoy this.
