i phucking love vacations. i've slept in till 11am almost every day, and i wasn't even going to bed really late! i'm just sleeping a lot, and it's lovely. getting kind of annoyed, though, by the necessity of daily showers. like, i have to get off the couch and do this showering thing every single day! i think i might not shower today at all.

i've read five books so far: Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner, The Great Good Thing by Roderick Townley, The Last Time They Met by Anita Shreve (this book is a total mindphuck, i was kind of disappointed at the end (and btw, i know her son!)), Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton (never had to read it in high school), and King and Goddess by Judith Tarr (historical fiction about ancient egypt). the only one i had read before was King and Goddess, so i'm doing good, reading new stuff. i'm trying to decide what to read next.

i've also seen a bunch of movies! i saw Spiderman on sunday with my parents. it phuckan ruled, bra. i can't wait to go see it again with you, jorn. i watched the TV movie Dinotopia, which was pretty cool--the dinosaurs looked cool, at least, which redeemed the movie from bad script and bad acting. they're supposed to be coming out with a Dinotopia spin-off TV series this fall, and i just hope they got a new scriptwriter. i rented Life As A House with laur and colleen, and it was really really good. like american beauty, kind of. stars kevin kline and hayden christiansen. speaking of hayden christiansen, i also saw Attack of teh Clones! last night at midnight. i went with john shelly and john collins. and it PHUCKAN RULED, BRA!!!!!!! yoda phucking rocks my world. the whole theater was yelling when he reached for his light saber. it was definitely worth seeing at midnight, and i can't wait to see it again with jorn, either.

however, it'll be a while before i want to see another hayden christiansen movie. he whines a lot.

all in all, having a great vacation.

What did you think of...

What did you think about Good in Bed?

I read it and i don't know what i thought...

i liked it, but the narrator's problem isn't a problem i've had to deal with, so i don't know how true to life the book is. from things my friends have told me (and things i've heard them say about themselves), it seemed a pretty genuine depiction. but overall i thought it was a good read. what was your conflict with it?

so, what's this about "Good In Bed"? I'm guessing it's not about sex, or at least, not like I'm thinking.

Is Anita Shreve's son Shreve Porter? Or is that just a weird coincidence?

And did other people have to read Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton? I've never heard of it. But people in my high school could barely read, so it's not like they threw anything challenging at us.

I miss you.

Porter Shreve, yes. at least i think so. and if you look at her picture on the book jacket, it's just got to be, they look too much alike.

apparently lots of people read Ethan Frome in high school, but not in my high school.

i miss you too.
