icons: first batch

here's my first try at making some icons. tell me what you think...





i'm thinking i want to put some text with pedro there, but it's got to be something good.
and i wanted to officially post Mr. Yeats.


(i was a cute baby)


(added a border and cleaned up a little this one i've had for a while)

I don't know if it's what you're looking to do, but I could teach you how to use templates (what gives icons those crisp lines, and words. Check my current icon) if you'd want.

What program are you using?

i'm using Serif PhotoPlus because it's free. i get the feeling it has a lot in common with photoshop, but i also get the feeling there's a lot more i could do if i was actually willing to pay for software. but yes, i haven't been very satisfied with the look of my lines, so i'd be happy to hear suggestions. :)

Well, I can't really help you with that exactly. I can give you an idea though.

First you need to get a 100x100 you want.

Take, for example.

Then, you need a template.
will work.

Make the center part of your template transparent, and copy/paste as a new layer on your 100x100.

Works to be something like this:

This sucks, but I did it in like two seconds.

Add text, blinkies. Whatever. It's fun.
