yo yo yo. so here's some stuff that happened.

thursday night i got me an appointment with the eye doctor. he looked in my eyes, and he was really nice, and i liked him. he gave me a pair of trial contacts to hold me over til my new lenses arrive, and here's the thing: they're *one-month* lenses. instead of the crapzor two-week lenses i've been stuck with for the past year because the butthead doctor at the lenscrafters in greensboro was a butthead. so, no more ow when i'm staying up late at night, and no more ow at random times during the day when crap sticks to the contact and hurts me. nice normal lenses that i clean every night. i could even sleep with these in, but my eyes tend to get dry and frankly the thought of sleeping every night with my lenses in kind of creeps me out. also, i ordered a new pair of glasses. i guess they're okay. i think i like my brown ones better, but this doctor had an okay selection and i needed new ones so i just picked. hopefully they won't be bad. and the doctor did the thing where he dilated my eyes, but luckily i didn't need to drive or read anything when i got home. and it's not difficult to clean the bathroom with blurry eyes. the bathroom was pretty gross, though, let me tell you.

friday was my anniversary with jorn. we went to dinner at the border cafe in harvard square. i really like that place. possibly because their fajitas rock. also, possibly because it's the only mexican place i know in boston.

(things i miss about greensboro: good hole-in-the-wall mexican places, Waffle House, Tex & Shirley's all-you-can-eat pancakes, chinese take out, nyp...)

jorn and i also exchanged anniversary presents. he gave me the Frida soundtrack, a dvd two-pak ("you got shakur? i want two-pak!") of Plan 9 From Outer Space and The Robot-Monster (which we just saw at the astrophysics center), and a plush banjo kazooie doll. SO CUTE. we've been running all over the house making him say "da ha!" in that goofy banjo voice. i gave jorn the new (or not so new, by now) Outkast cd that he'd been wanting, and X2 on dvd, and a Get Fuzzy book (this dog is not a toy). all of which he really liked, plus there's something else that i ordered that perhaps arrived in today's mail, since dann said i received a package. the rest of our anniversary is none of your business.

um, saturday was our party. i did a good bit of cleaning, mostly in my room but also around the apartment. i chatted on the phone with sarah for a while, and then mel & james arrived up from CT, and then sarah arrived up from CT. we chilled, and walked up to the 1369 for coffee (in the words of sarah: "coffeecoffeecoffee!!1!!!" which, now that i think about it, is a lot like "buffybuffybuffy!!!!1!"). and we got pizza, which we weren't finished eating by the time the party started, but that was okay because the first guests helped us eat the pizza, and there was some left over for sunday.

the party on the whole was pretty fun. i made the crabbies and some pre-made valentine cookies with little hearts on them, and jorn made the peanut blossoms, and dann made a plate with cheese and smoked salmon that everyone seemed to enjoy. i had a few drinks but i think something about the melon liqueur didn't agree with me because i ended up getting a tummyache and not really doing much for the second half of the party. the first half, though, was very fun--got to see darxus and meet kris, got to see tyler and david and alyssa and miles and meet miles's brother harold. dylan was hot in a pimpin' outfit (i totally want those pants) and rikky was hot in some very touchy-feely pants. snuggled with farbs and maddie and jorn. Soccer Practice was watched; breasts were grabbed.

oh! the funnest part of the party was moving all the rugs. dann is my bestest friend.

eventually dylan's friends arrived and brought with them Dance Dance Revolution, which wasn't so fun for me. by then i had my tummyache, and the one time i tried the DDR, dylan was all "you come try this now!" and then wandered off and didn't do it with me, and the guy who i was stuck with picked a song that i think was too fast for me. i even told him it was my first time trying it, too. after that sarah and i fell asleep on the couch. i don't think we were asleep that long, but even after we woke up no one was talking to us because they figured we were still asleep. also, the living room was full of dylan-people who i don't feel entirely chatty with, and who therefore don't chat with me (except wally, who i like. wally also appreciated my voltron). anyway, sarah wanted to sleep in her own bed, so she left around 1:30am to drive back to CT. not long after that, farbs decided to go to sleep (she was sleeping over) so i got her outfitted in some of my pjs (so cute!) and by this point i was totally sick of watching other people play DDR so i went to bed and read my book for a while. which was fine. i was a bit more upset about it at the time, but it's not anyone else's fault i got a tummyache, and the rest of it is no one's fault but mine, so i have no room to bitch.

dann and dylan and jorn all had a smashing time at the party, thankfully, and were completely shocked when i mentioned yesterday that my evening was not as fun. i felt bad about that but was really glad i wasn't being a whiny bitch all night and ruining their good time (though i should have gotten off my ass and enjoyed myself some more). i got my film back from the party yesterday too, and since my camera got left in the kitchen, i kept thinking, wow was i even *at* this party? there was a lot of fun stuff i missed, like jorn playing guitar (i was dozing off when that happened) and farbs showing people her breasts (no resident of our apartment actually saw this, which we think is completely unfair) (and, to clarify, i know this happened not because it was captured on film, though i wish, but because dann's bruth and one of jorn's friends saw it happen and told us).

and on the topic of possibly getting a DDR for our house: i don't know that i want in on the hundreds of dollars of investment there, HOWEVER i am feeling much more kindly towards the DDR and will not assholishly boycott the living room if one is purchased. this isn't like the jorn-vs-the-cat ish, i will be cool with us getting one if y'all decide you want it. if us having one drastically improves my opinion of it, i may pay you back some of the money for it, but feeling as i do currently i don't really want to be responsible for buying part of it initially. i will give it another chance, though, if you promise not to laugh at me.
