missed a party / the final car dance / working on banjo tooie

a good weekend. friday night i meant to go to kris's party--i *meant* to go--but got to feeling miserably pmsy and emotional and bad/sick, and i was still going to go until jorn made me stay home. i would have been No Fun anyway. instead i ended up having a reasonably good evening in pajamas watching Princess Mononoke with jorn and falling asleep in the middle. saturday i slept in, and it was freakin' wonderful. when i woke up i laid in bed and read my book for another hour and a half. i love doing that. then played nintendo for a while, ate Big Pancake, and made car-moving preparations. see, i finally got my cambridge parking permit in friday's mail, so jorn and i were going to celebrate by getting my car out, going to target, and then parking it on the street. then farbo invited us over to her place for games saturday night, and we modified the plan by deciding to just go right to farbo's from target. so we were going to leave around 6 but then discovered i was parked in by not two, not three, but four different cars: dylan's, the two usual downstairs girls', and a mystery jetta--i'm guessing one of the downstairs girls had a friend in to visit. she left us the keys to the mystery jetta, at least, but part of the problem is that dylan drives a stick, so neither jorn nor i can drive it or move it. and dylan wasn't home, so we had to call him, and he said he'd be home around 7. great. so we sat around an hour, and at almost 7:30 dylan gets home and decides to take a quick shower. he was supposed to be at a play with rikky at 8. he was taking his car, so jorn and i figured we'd move cars fast so he could get his out. then i realized that the jetta is also a stick shift, so dylan would have to move that one too. i ended up driving around the block like three times in annie's car, but luckily some of the downstairs girls got home in time to help a little with the car dancing. it was of course a major pain in the ass, but we got my car out, although by then it was way too late to go to target anymore, so we went right to farbo's. and played applez 2 applez, and scruples, and it was a good night made even better by the fact that we didn't have to go rushing out at 11:30 to catch the T. now my car is parked on the street, and i will drive it whenever i freakin' want.

sunday we went to the museum of science. a fun day. then to johnny's for dinner. good stuff. more nintendo last night. i can't wait til i finish the damned game. i'm pretty determined to get every puzzle piece, which i think is pretty do-able at this point. i only have cloudcuckooland left to do plus the defending-the-photographer-pig in jolly roger bay, which is really pissing me off. and i got jorn to do the canary race, so i'm glad that's over with. i've got all the jinjos except for two in cloudcuckooland, too.

this week jorn is going to austin and dann's going to birmingham. i'm going to be so lonely. maybe it'll be good for me. maybe i'll finish the damn game, do some reading, rent some girly movies, maybe even write. teh.

yeah, i made sure to call her on saturday to apologize. i felt bad for not making it, but it was really better i stayed home. i doubt i would've been very good company anyway.
