i'm still exhausted from this weekend.

so friday i left work a little before noon, stopped at the bank, took my stuff out to the car, and then had lunch with jorn. "lunch" consisted of the last two frozen soft pretzels and some ben & jerry's, as we had no food in the house. miles got to our house a little after 1:00. we got gas, hit dunkin for some actual lunch, and then got on the road. drive was uneventful, really. arrived at my parents' house shortly after 9:00. we had some frozen pizza and then played tiles with my parents, and it was very fun.

saturday, miles was awake and out of the shower before i was even out of bed, but that was good. i packed up all my anne rice books on the sly and took them out to the car (they filled a brown grocery bag). when my mom caught me doing this, she insisted i hit the Halpine Library, so i also borrowed like eight other books from her that i'm looking forward to reading. mom and dad also, awesomely, had picked up wrapping paper for me, so i was able to wrap up our gift. we "left" at 11:00 but the leaving took so long ("bye, honey! be careful driving! do you need a snack? be careful! have a good time! be careful driving!...") that we actually left the house around 11:20. i started worrying that we wouldn't get there in time for me to do sarah's hair, but it actually took very little time at all to get there and we arrived at the radisson at around 1:35. she needed to be ready to go by 3:00, and it was no problem. after some preliminary hotel-bed-jumping, we got to work, and i have to say, her hair looked really awesome. we parted it on the side, and i did a twisty thing down her hairline on both sides, and then we pulled it back in a low bun. she stuck some sparkly hair sticks in it, and i stucks some glittery things in it, and it looked very pretty. after some breast maneuvering she was all dressed and ready for the wedding.

miles and jorn and i grabbed her stuff and headed out to find the marriott, where we were staying, and on the way we grabbed some lunch. got checked in, got dressed, and left later than we should have, but we made it to the ceremony ahead of the bride, so it worked out. hopefully i will be on time to my own wedding even if i can never be on time to anyone else's. it was outside. it was beautiful. they had absolutely perfect weather. the reception was also held at the mansion, and it was quite upscale. very lovely, very nice. the tables, instead of being numbered, were named different things: ours was "feeding the ducks," amy and josh were at "on the water," things like that. the food was great. mel's sister caught the bouquet, at which her mother gasped in horror after having to pay for this thing (but i heard her sister wants to elope to vegas, and that that was being encouraged). :) it was lovely. what else to say?

so who was there. amy and josh, of course, and it was wonderful to see them. i'm definitely going to find a time to fly out to denver for a weekend this summer. mel's girls were all there: missy and cassie and gretchen, and dawn and julie and karen, who lost like 100 pounds and looked amazing. and some other girls who i never knew very well to begin with. james's PMA boys were also all there: wolfe and wilson and tom hnatow, who had lost a lot of weight and looked great when i saw him a year ago, and who has since lost even more weight and now looks kind of really gay. not sure if he is now, but the usual PMA butt-fucking jokes seemed to have some extra umph to them if that means anything. also he was snugglier than seemed normal with both crawford and miles. anyway, if you're gay, good for you, tom. it was good to see him. and yes, crawfie was there and was just his old crawford self. i always miss crawford. and adam asshole clark, of course, whom i ignored. there was really a very large group of SU friends, which was cool, but the photographer had problems fitting us all in the picture. i haven't seen an SU Today picture with this many SU people at one wedding, so i'm betting they'll print it.

after the reception we went back to our hotel to get changed and debated about whether we wanted to go to the party or not. eventually we got our asses in gear and got to the party around midnight. had some beer, had some pizza, and mel and james pulled out the hookah that was their wedding gift from wolfe. it was around then that i conked out in jorn's lap. ended up getting to bed around 2am.

on sunday it took some serious hard work to get me out of bed, but i did eventually get moving. we checked out a little after 11:00 and drove for a little while until we found a Waffle House. and oh my god. the glory of it. i got cheesy eggs and hashbrowns scattered, smothered, and covered (that's with cheese and onions, for those of y'all who don't know the Wa Ho), and i got raisin toast and a pecan waffle. and i ate it all except for some of the crust of the raisin toast. it was so, so good. OMG. MMM-MMM, BITCH!!1!

so we left the Wa Ho around 1:00. miles drove first. i fell asleep in the backseat. eventually miles started talking about the three-peckered billy goat rapists of new jersey, so we figured he needed some relief, and jorn drove for a while. the traffic in jersey and new york was really horrid. i took my turn midway through connecticut, dropped miles off at his apartment at around 10:00, and then got a little lost on the way to my place. got stressed, got tense, freaked out, hated boston. the usual. made it home by 10:45, was in bed by 11. and this morning i overslept by like half an hour because the alarm just was not waking me up. i really don't think i'm up for game night tonight. we'll see.
