okay. so i decided something about shoe shopping. i've decided that i'm allowed to buy new shoes once per month. i started this trend already without realizing it: in march i got the brown shoes at DSW with sarah, and in april i got the white sandals from payless. now it's may and i got my new birks.
in mid-june, i will get the adorably cute green roos i've been lusting after ever since farbs and i first saw them at the mall (i need new sneakers anyway). and in july, i will get either the mary jane type shoes with the kitty faces on the toes, or the really cute rain boots. the kitty face ones are the first choice, but the rain boots will also be satisfactory if the kitty face ones don't fit right.
ooh! i just thought of it, the kitty shoes will look supercute with the Amazingly Awesome Black and White Dress, because they are also black and white. oooh. here's a picture of the kitty shoes; just imagine them as black and white instead of white and black. jess, don't you have a pair of these? are they comfy? when you come to visit boston we have to go to my New Favorite Shoe Store because you would like it there too.
and you know, i feel much better now. for a while i've been all thinking about shoes, and trying to decide if i can afford more shoes, and putting off getting shoes that i like indefinitely. but now that i have a shoe-buying Plan, it's just better all the way around. i can look forward to the indulgence without feeling bad about it.
wish i had a Shoe Icon... but that would just be silly.

Date: 2004-05-18 12:43 pm (UTC)From:that said, i do think i've got a few more pairs of shoes than i possibly need (and that's a pretty big admission right there). off the top of my head i know i've got three pairs of boots (brown hiking, black sexy, and blue docs), sneakers (two pairs?), lots of sandals, and several pairs of dressy shoes. i'm planning on cleaning out my closet in the next few weeks, though. that'll include shoes. definitely. i know there's a bunch i never ever wear, and there's some that hurt and i keep them "just in case."
i'm better about shoes than lots of women, though...
