okay, so remember how i mentioned the critter living in my office wall? well, it died. i haven't heard it moving around for a few days, but today i came in to work and my office smelled AWFUL. i asked joe if his office was smelly too, and he said yes but not as bad. he also noticed several really huge flies in his office last night. i've also noticed a really huge fly but thought it was just because i open my window sometimes.
so i called maintenance, and the girl who answered the phone was familiar with the case and said she had heard that they were baby squirrels in there, and apparently it's against the law to kill baby squirrels or destroy their nest? she had been under the impression that the maintenance people weren't going to be able to do anything about it. so i guess they just died of natural causes? anyway, something's dead and it smells and i want it gone. hopefully someone will come out soon who can take care of this.
(this kind of reminds me of freshman year in college--the night we moved into our dorm, we had a hall meeting in the basement, which smelled really really bad for some reason. later we found out there was a dead rat under one of the couches. yum.)
