movies to see:

- Farenheit 9/11 (seeing it tomorrow with jornzor)
- King Arthur
- Van Helsing (STILL haven't seen it!)
- Spiderman 2
- Cold Mountain (renting it next week when jorn's away--dann and dyl, you are forewarned)

in other news, the juice that i got at star this morning is hella good!! which i'm glad about, considering i bought a big-ass thing of it. i'm in much better spirits now than i was this morning, in spite of the (IMO) icky weather.

i'm off to run more stuff over to the kipster... i went through all the mail this morning that had piled up while i was away, and kipster's got five new submissions and three resubmits to go through. i take a certain gleeful pleasure in bestowing more bad manuscripts on him.

See Spiderman 2...

Van Helsing...I saw. The movie is about the special effects and there is no character depth to any of them.

King Arther -- Umm, the girl is hot...but haven't heard that many good reviews..

Cold Mountain...reviews have been mixed...some people didn't think the relationships work, another woman did...

i know that with Van Helsing i'm not going to get any sort of character depth or stunning plot lines. i'm going to see it with the knowledge that it will look cool, and so i think i'll probably be happy with it. i'm generally pretty easygoing with movies--the only thing i've seen lately that i genuinely hated was Underworld. it just blew too hard for me to ignore.

i think King Arthur may end up being a lot like Troy, which was great if you like pretty men and lots of slaughter. which i do. plus there's the added bonus of kickass keira.

Cold Mountain i've been wanting to see for a while. i like Natalie Portman and Jude Law a lot, and i tend to like historical stuff, so i think i'll like it. i'll let you know. :)

Yeah, guess it was pretty rude of me to post reviews when ya haven't seen it...but I didn't want ya to be disappointed...

But then I don't know what your tastes are....

*hmm* may have to rent Cold Mountain...Natalie Portman...

Chang Lee -- who, for the record, was upset there weren't as many Natalie nipple shots in the DVD release as the theatrical release.

oh and Farenheit 9/11 is just propaganda...Anyone could take the material from a person's life. Exploits a mother having lost her son...have heard there is a beheading in it...

And the other thing that rubs me the wrong way about Mr. Moore is that he makes money on this. If he was so great and pure as fans think...shouldn't it be free???

of course it's propaganda and it's exaggerated. i just tend to think that michael moore's propaganda is a bit closer to the truth than gw's. and if you haven't seen it, you can't really know for sure *what's* in it.

i'm happy to give michael moore some money to see his movie. he's willing to put himself out there and say things that no one else can or will say, and i personally think those things need to get said.

I'm not trying to start a deep political debate on Michael Moore...

And I know I shouldn't be talking about it if I haven't seen it. But since you are going to see it...could you tell me if the beheading is in there??

I'd appreciate it.

you could say that about anybody that does anything. If Cheney was really a decent person, wouldn't he have given Halliburton back the severance package they gave him so they wouldn't have to overcharge the US government for everything in Iraq? If Bush was really a decent person, wouldn't he have given some of his millions to help out against the huge budget deficit he created? I don't think that's a fair thing to say against Moore or anybody. It's his job, and he deserves to get paid for it.

I just think it's interesting if we are truly headed for a one world government and the U.S. is spearheading it...

Closer to the endtimes. At least it's interesting...
