supercheesegirl: (buffy happy)
i am an excited girl. i got an amazon birthday box from my mom last night (Tales Of The Slayers Vol. 1, and The Dark Crystal on dvd!) so i went on amazon today to take those things off my wish list. and while on my wish list i happened to see that the Buffy seasons 1-4 pack had dropped in price from $180 to $125. for all four seasons! and since yesterday i had figured out that i'm going to be able to completely pay off my mastercard this month, i went ahead and bought it. yay! i'm so happy. soon i'll be able to torment my roommates with all buffybuffybuffy, all the time. yaaaaaaaaay!

also, a present came in the mail for me yesterday that jorn had ordered. i'm not going to say what it is, but [livejournal.com profile] pocketwitch can probably guess. and yes, it's just as great as i've always heard it is.

i've also received birthday gifts in the mail from amy & josh in denver and rose in PA. i am very pleased with the state of my mailbox these days.

i did finish harry potter 5 last night, though, so i'm out of HP books to reread. and the end of book 5 really is a downer. i'm very interested to see what kind of person harry's going to be in book 6. but i have a long time to wait for that, don't i?

*racks brain* Did I know what you were getting? I'm probably going to hit myself if you remind me, but I can't think of what it might be ...

Is this the Tales of the Slayers book you got? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1569716056/qid=1090593950/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/104-9268562-3789539?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

If so, it is excellent. Fray is excellent, too, if you've not read it.

And yes, we're going to have to wait TOO DAMNED LONG for HP5. *grumble*

well, he got the idea from you... because you've always talked about yours and how wonderful it is. :)

and no, i got this one, but that one is also on my wish list.

OOOOHHHHHHH. I get it now.

It is wonderful, isn't it? I've had mine for ... five years? A while now. And I love it just as much as I did when I first got it.

i was loving mine yesterday, let me tell you.

They last forever, too. Definitely worth the investment. I've used mine ... um ... on a very, very regular basis for as long as I've had it, and it shows no signs of giving out.

that's very good news. i had a cheap one from spencer's for a while that just stopped working, and i was awfully disappointed.

This is why I always tell people it'll save them money in the long run. You could replace a cheap $15 a dozen times and the nice $50 will still be going strong .... and how strong it is.

I read the line "Is this the Tales of the Slayers book you got?" and got all excited and clicked the link. Then I realized you weren't talking about what I thought you were talking about. Ha ha - I tend to make that mistake a lot whenever Rox talking about Buffy. =-)

Hee!! Interfandom confusion ...

Date: 2004-07-23 09:05 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] supercheesegirl.livejournal.com
sorry, babe, my slayers tend to be different from your slayers. although Buffy would probably kick some serious ass if she had a dragon slave...

I'm sure someone somewhere has written some cross-fanfom slash....

that would be interesting. Buffy/Gourry! Lina/Angel! hee!

Buffy/Gourry! OMJ!

"...the end of book 5 really is a downer."

I noticed that you seemed to be sighing rather heavily while I was playing DDR last night - is that why?

Date: 2004-07-23 09:07 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] supercheesegirl.livejournal.com
i guess. it's like jorn always says about Buffy--if she'd just *go talk about it* with someone for like 20 seconds, all the problems would be solved. but no, months go by and it just gets worse and worse and people get killed and after it all goes down *then* they talk about it. rrgh.

also, i've been a little short of breath lately. nothing to worry about, i don't think, but if i seem to be sighing sadly a lot i could also just be trying to breathe.
