Last night we went to see Spiderman 2 at the leather couch IMAX in Natick. I liked the movie a lot. I was glad for Peter's sake that he took the non-Buffy route of actually telling people what his problems were. The characterization seemed way better to me than in the first movie--Peter was a guy who just wanted to be normal, who had all these huge problems and demands weighing on him that no one could understand. In the scene in the elevator, where Random Guy tells Peter he likes his spidey outfit, Peter seemed so relieved to be able to tell someone that it was uncomfortable, because he can't tell anyone anything. By the end, he was just so happy to have the secret be out, I think. No more hiding the truth from MJ and his best friend, even if his friend's totally going to come after him in the next movie. And no more hiding the truth about Uncle Ben's death from Aunt May and having that weigh on him. And Alfred Molina? Unexpectedly sexy. I really liked his character a lot--he wasn't insane, just complex. Yeah, I liked the movie a lot. Best line, though? "Hey, Spiderman just stole that guy's pizzas!"
Manray tonight. Farbs swears she'll make it this time. If she doesn't Batts and I will still have a good time, I know, but it'll be even more fun if Farbs comes too. I'm tired though--haven't slept well the past two nights. Maybe tonight after Manray I'll be so wiped out I'll be able to sleep through the night. Don't know where the weird dreams are coming from.
Every Catie Curtis cd sounds like every other Catie Curtis cd.
I like the Buffy game so far, except that it seems to give me a headache, and the storyline leaves a little to be desired (so far it's "you're being attacked in the Magic Box! Now you're in the cemetery! Now Willow and Xander are in a factory for some unexplained reason!"). I can't quite get the hang of the crossbow, either. I hope I don't have to actually use the damn thing for real against any enemies, because I'm totally not practicing with it. I'm enjoying the holy water supersoaker, though. Willow's magic is pretty fun, too--last night I was in a position where I could see exactly where the vampires were coming from, so I was sending fireballs to hit them right as they climbed up to where I was. It rocked.
