I had a pretty good weekend. Got to see [livejournal.com profile] dominanefret on Friday night, which was awesome, and met some other cool people. Saturday, did the Otis thing, then partied with [livejournal.com profile] xxv, [livejournal.com profile] nchanter, and [livejournal.com profile] darxus, and managed to drag Jorno along with us even though it was a costume-required party and he was minded to boycott. Glad he didn't. Sunday was lovely. I slept in, got the paper, clipped my coupons, played BuffyBuffyPS2 for a while, then showered and went to the blessedly-air-conditioned grocery store. (And Rox said, Let there be some freakin' food, and there was food). Our kitchen is now full of things to eat. After that I played some more BuffyBuffyPS2 instead of going for a walk like I'd wanted to, but it was hotter than dog balls and I didn't really feel like going out. I'm doing pretty well in the Buffy game, btw: I just finished the Sunnydale HS area, where Xander has to drop bunnies all over the school and then kick Anya's ass. I beat her with a shovel. I think the shovel's my favorite weapon after the sword.

I've finished the five books of the Foundation series--still have to read the prequels, but I think I'll wait on those for a while. The last two books had a really different tone, I thought--well of course they do, they were written 30 years later--but still, the series went in a way that I hadn't imagined it would go. When I started, I had the impression that this series wasn't about robots, and then at the end it still ended up being about robots. Like he couldn't help himself, he had to work the robots in there somehow. I think the first and second books are my favorites, really--just smart people being smart and clever and saving the galaxy. Not that robots aren't great--I definitely want to pick up some of the robot books--but I didn't think there would be robots in this series, so I wasn't expecting robots and therefore felt a little let down when they showed up. Still good books, though.

Jorn and I are having a date tonight. Dinner and a movie, and the movie will be free because we still have these passes from the time we tried to see Spiderman 2 and the power went out. I'm excited, I haven't been spending enough time with Jorno lately. Also, Dann will be able to watch his World Cup hockey without me whining over his shoulder. A good evening for everyone!

Out of curiousity, what movie did you see?

We saw Hero. It was good, but Crouching Tiger was better.

Also, even the British don't put a second U in curiosity. :)

What do I look like? Webster?

I spell favorite 'favourite' because it just feels more natural to me. I just happened to forget that the 'u' gets taken out when it's changed to curiosity.

You're the English major here. :-P

Oh, and as to why I asked. Go see Garden State with Jorn before it goes out of theatres. Seriously. And don't find out anything about it first, because it's kind of better that way, you know what I mean? It's just one of those movies.

If you looked like Webster, that'd be a little scary. But I'm thinking you're too young to remember Webster anyway...

I don't have a problem with people using British spellings. I just have a problem with people using misspellings. :) There's a few people on my f-list that drive me nuts because they consistently misspell basic words. But since it would be rude and mean of me to comment to them saying I BEFORE E EXCEPT AFTER C, BITCH!!1!!1, I'm instead taking it out on you. Hope you don't mind. :)

I really do want to see Garden State, and hopefully we'll get a chance to see it soon. I'm glad to know you're recommending it--maybe we'll make that a priority instead of The Bourne Supremacy, which is currently next on the list.

Absolutely.
