nintendo stuff

nonuglygamers, and so far my application is doing okay. i'm excited, even if i do get to be Gamer Grandma.
here, this was jorn's idea: for me to combine my love of castlevania with my love of buffy in a meaningful icon.

i tried again to beat banjo kazooie last night. oh my god, it's driving me nuts. i want to fucking kill gruntilda (which, i guess, is the whole point). but almost every time, i can make it up to the part where the dingos appear to help me, and then i get creamed by the goddamned fireballs. it doesn't help that by the time i get to that part, i've lost all my red honeycombs and some of my yellow ones. i am going to beat it sometime, i totally am. i want to have beaten bk before i go on to banjo tooie. it's just pissing me off because this was a spectacularly awesome game, challenging but really fun to play, until we get to the goat-raping final battle. argh.

plans for this weekend

friday night: i totally want to go see this at the harvard film archive. it just looks really cool. starts at 7, and tickets are $10. in fact, i think i may go buy my ticket right after i leave work today. (lower level of the carpenter center at 24 quincy street)
saturday: working at the otis house during the day, and then happily going to see Plan 9 from Outer Space at the center for astrophysics. 6:30pm and free. woot.
sunday: i'm thinking this may be my shopping day. i've been wanting to hit filene's for some cute underwear (since the felix the cat ones are working out so well) and a new beige bra or two. i also want a bag for my yoga mat (i know i could create one without too much trouble, but i think i'd rather just buy one and have it be easier). i also want to go to border's and use my gift cards to get some new books, since i haven't had much to read lately. also might get my hair cut--need to call and see about making an appointment for that.
and we totally need to go to the library. and i need to find a good used book store that actually has a selection of fantasy novels.
