so yesterday around 4:30, sarah called me up. she was on the harvard campus! i gave her some directions and then went out to meet her. showed her my office and stuff. then we went back to my place, and i made crab alfredo pasta for dinner, and she made garlic bread, and it was very good. then she and jorn and i walked up to toscanini's for ice cream, and that was good too. the guy behind the counter was really good at his job--he gave us flavor advice, and let us try whatever we wanted, and even remembered that the coffee pint we picked up was for dann (ie, "so who's paying for dann's?"). i liked the cake batter a lot, but i should've only gotten one scoop because i burned out on it pretty soon, especially after eating a big dinner.
sarah and i dozed off on the couch, and then debated about whether or not we were too lazy to get gothed up and go to Manray. we did eventually get ourselves together and get dressed, and we met up with david and his friend sophia at Manray, and it was fun. we didn't dance too much (my rican sarah was... uncertain that she could dance like the rest of the crowd), but i did eventually haul her out there, and that was fun. we also did a lot of people watching and kept up our usual running commentary. and it's always good to see david in eye makeup.
we got to bed around 1:00, and i got up at 7:00, which wasn't quite enough sleep for me, but i am in a great mood. sarah wanted to grab coffee on the way to the T, but not just any coffee would do, so we went to the 1369 and then walked the rest of the way to harvard. it's a beautiful day, and i took a nice walk with my best friend, drinking a yummy coffee. i don't think there could be any better start to a day. i was still in a good mood even after i realized i forgot my leftover pasta for lunch.
sarah will be back again next weekend, too! we'll be going to see david's show on 5/15. i haven't heard his work performed since college, so that should be a good thing, especially since he's talking about setting some of my poems. but i'm psyched to see sarah again so soon. i love spring, and i love having my roommate (the one-and-only original roommate) only living 1.5 hours away.
tonight: going over to farbo's (farbo, farbs, farbzor, the F-bomb) to watch The Usual Suspects, which she's never seen and which i have on dvd. hopefully we will order lots of food.
