books 2007: Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy, by Jenny Nimmo

I finished this on Tuesday, I think, reading on the train. I forgot to post it then because I went to my mom's house that night and then got sick with the stomach bug of doom. Which, by the way, is getting a lot better--I am really hungry this morning. I've eaten a bowl of cereal and a banana, and I'm still hungry but I don't want to push it.

Anyway, in this book, Charlie discovers that a magical snake has made an innocent boy invisible, and the nasty Bloors are keeping him prisoner in the attic. Charlie has to find out how to make him visible again and return him safely to his family.

books 2007: Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors, by Jenny Nimmo

Another Charlie Bone. I read this on Wednesday, when I was really sick, and it helped a lot. I couldn'tve handled anything more "adult" at that point, and it was a good distraction. In this one Charlie finally gets to help poor orphan Billy Raven, and we find out about Billy's family and history.

That's the last Charlie Bone book I've got, unfortunately. There's one more out, and I've added it to my amazon wishlist, and another one is due out this summer, so that's cool. ( Read more... )

stupid pants

Okay, I know I'm not supposed to be excited about losing weight while I was sick. But my jeans! They're loose IN THE THIGHS! I can't remember the last time any of my pants were loose in the thighs. They're so much more comfortable! I don't have a scale in my apartment so I don't know exactly what weight I'm at right now, but holy crap I want to maintain it.

The new flannel sheets for my bed are from Boscov's, and the brand name is "The Ashley Cooper collection". Why, oh why, couldn't it be the Alice Cooper collection? Those sheets would fucking rock! \m/

...Well, I guess if the sheets were from the Alice Cooper collection, they wouldn't have cute little snowmen on them. But they'd be sure to be awesome.
