You know, when I'm wearing rubber boots and a good coat, I get close to understanding why Dann likes rainy days so much. I've been very appreciative of autumn this year on the whole.
You do have a large head and rather sizeable hair. You need a friend who knits, maybe. Although I can't imagine you with a woolly hat. A fedora, maybe?
I've owned an oilskin duster/drover, which is a long coat apparently designed for horseback riding in the rain since I was in college. I tried to buy a matching oilskin hat (so I'd stay completely dry on a horse.. or standing), but the XL crushed my head, so I returned it, and they didn't have a larger size. That was as long as 8 years ago, and I haven't tried since. My helmet is XXL.
I google searched for oilskin hat xxl. Wish I could find a place locally that sold them so I could try it on, but I'm fairly certain their xxl would fit. I'd also need to find out how to get my duster re-oiled, since it's rather well worn. Plus it needs a bit of stitching.
I love rainy days! And as pretty as all the trees in Ohio are... I miss New England's fall.... So I think I might be in Boston in December if you're around I would like to visit if possible?
