I compromised: instead of making the trek across campus in the snow to go to yoga class, I did half an hour of stretching here in my office. I feel good, and I didn't have to go out in the snow, and I can still leave right at 5:00. My knee really is doing weird things, though. Have to keep an eye on that.
I'm making good progress with my mp3 cd that Jorn made for me. The cd contains:
- The Advantage - self-titled album
- Beck - Sea Change
- DDR - a bunch of songs
- Death Cab for Cutie - The Photo Album
- Devendra Banhart - Nino Rojo, and Rejoicing in the Hands
- Inuyasha music
- a slew of miscellaneous songs, including the TMNT theme, some Ren & Stimpy songs, the previously mentioned Joy Division song and Tattle Tale song, and three Joanna Newsom songs
- Red House Painters - Shock Me (EP)
- Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous
- Ocarina of Time themes
I've now listened to everything on the cd except for The Advantage, but I've seen them live and have a pretty good idea what they do, and Rejoicing in Hands. My conclusions include but are not limited to:
- Joanna Newsom is insane but somehow likable
- I *love* Sea Change
- The Gerudo Valley theme is arguably the best piece of video game music ever written
- Bo ku ta chi wa
I also ordered some stuff from bmg today. Buy one, get three free, you know the deal. So I got Madonna - The Immaculate Collection, Cyndi Lauper - The Essential Cyndi Lauper, Saturday Morning Cartoons' Greatest Hits, and a Glenn Miller cd. I really would prefer the Platinum Glenn Miller double cd set, but this one looked nice too. I'm really running out of things to buy on bmg, though. I was using it to stock up on things I should have had all along but never got around to buying, but I'm almost done with that and everything else I want they don't have. Not even the Eternal Sunshine soundtrack, which is silly. So this might be my last bmg order for a while. I keep saying that, I know, but the only way bmg is good is if you buy a bunch of stuff, and there aren't bunches of things for me to buy there anymore. Meh.
