Last night I went shopping with Jorn's friends from work, Jantine and Erin. The purpose of the trip was finding dresses and accessories for Saturday's company gala event. First stop was the Garment District, where Erin got this spectacular dress with a peacock feather print all over it (I was so jealous) and I snagged a vintage 40s-ish black velvet dress that I think I like a lot. A little pricier than I would've liked, but I think it'll be worth it. Also got an off-white Hangover Sweater (a new word from Jantine, but I've been wanting a sweater like this for a while, and they certainly had an assortment to choose from) and a blue polyester shirt that I love. Spent more than I meant to, but I haven't been clothes shopping in a while. Then we went to the mall! After some much-needed Taco Bell in the food court, Erin and I got headbands from Claire's (Amy, remember that one I was eyeing at Urban Outfitters? One like that, but only $4.50!) and I also got a sweater and a skirt from H&M. The skirt is black corduroy with a flowery thing going on (I'll have to take a picture, I guess), and the sweater is a bright light blue with a white cursive R on it. R for Rox! It helped that both sweater and skirt were on sale. Erin got a teh sexay dress at H&M and a few other things, too. Overall it was a totally fun night and I can understand completely why Jorn loves his job if he gets to hang out with these girls all day. They are awesome and way fun. I haven't completely figured out what I'm wearing to the gala on Saturday (either the vintage black velvet or a long silvery grey velvet dress I already own), but I'm definitely looking forward to it more than I was before.

The shopping went on for much longer than I had anticipated (those girls can shop!), since we stayed at the GD past their closing time and then were at the mall til after the mall closed, too. I called Jorn at 7:40 as we were leaving the GD, just to check in, and he answered the phone with "Hi, I already set up the VCR to tape Lost." Total sweetie! So as soon as I got home and showed him all my purchases, we watched Lost. I definitely like Michael a lot more now. And Walt's mom was a total bitch, making it sound like she wanted what was best for Walt when really she was being selfish and wanting to keep Walt even though her new husband wasn't into it. Michael wanted Walt so bad! And she never even gave him Michael's letters! I hope Walt eventually realizes that it wasn't Michael's fault. I also hope that Michael and Locke start getting along better--maybe Michael will see that Locke is just trying to help? (*Is* Locke just trying to help? You can't be sure with him...) And OMG, Claire. I just hope she's okay. We rewound the tape, and it definitely looked like she was still pregnant. I hope that whoever took her didn't do anything bad to her or to the baby. She was gone for a week! That's a long time. And no new episode next week. So horrible. Rrgh.

-What physical qualities make a hangover sweater a hangover sweater?

From what I understand, Hangover Sweaters in general should be very soft and very cozy and should button down the front. Basically, the sweater you reach for to be comfy when you're hungover. Apparently the original hangover sweater is either white or off-white, so that hangover sweaters in other colors must be described specifically ("I really like that blue hangover sweater on you!"). There is seriously an entire rack of hangover sweaters at the Garment District. I guess they were popular in the '70s? I tried on several before I chose one.

I hope we get a picture of you dressed up in your fancy new duds! <3

Lost- woah! See, Walt made the polar bear so who's to say that Boone had to be drugged to "see" Shannon die!

Those are totally different things! We found out in this episode that Walt has a history of making things appear, that he had done it before he arrived on the island. So it wasn't necessarily the island responding to him. We don't know if Boone has a history of hallucinations but I kind of don't think so, so in Boone's case it would be the island creating what was called for, not Boone himself.

I'm just glad Claire's back and I wish there was an episode next week.

OMG!

I am so glad that Michael is not a jackass, because I really wanted him to be a good dad... the fact that he made himself out to be the bad guy when he went to take Walt home with him speaks volumes to me. He's just trying to protect his son.

I couldn't even tell about Claire... damn my eyes... but Preston & Steve were talking about it on Y100 this morning and they said it didn't look like she was pregnant anymore!!! *worries*

The next episode needs to be here now... and shouldn't it be Hurley-focused? He's the only 'main dude' left who hasn't got a backstory yet.

Dude, I said dude. Heh.

Dude, you have to pee on it. Pee on it, dude!

Anyway. We did rewind it, and there was definitely Large Belly showing when Claire stumbled out of the jungle. Preston and Steve are watching Lost? I love them so much! I wish I could listen to all the funny cracks Steve's probably making about it...

Yeah, I was impressed with Michael's self-restraint when he went to get Walt. He was probably seething with anger towards Susan and Brian, especially since he just found out Walt had never gotten any of his letters, but he did a really good job of not laying any blame on anyone or saying anything mean about Walt's newly-dead mom or the man who'd raised him. Very cool.

That was just my favorite scene with Hurley. He's so damn cool. I must admit, I'm a little glad there's a rerun next week, though. I haven't seen all the episodes, so I'll get to see another one I haven't seen yet. I hope they rerun "house of the rising sun", because I never got to see the background on Gavin, or whatever his name is in this show. I wish I had seen that episode.

Preston and Steve are completely OBSESSED with this show. They're the main reason I started watching it, because I wanted to know what they hell they were talking about every Thursday morning. And they've been interviewing cast members every week. They said today they were going to try and get Locke on the phone every other week, because they love him so very much. I think they've had him on at least 3 times so far. I get to hear so much over-analyzing from them, it's fun!

Yeah, the background on Gavin's character is pretty interesting. He goes through some crazy stuff to be with Sun (that's her name, right?), and a lot of that stuff were things he really shouldn'tve done.

Have you tried downloading episodes? That's what Jorn did for me, so I could get caught up. He can give you more details, but it seemed remarkably easy. Get on that, comp con girl!

Preston and Steve are the absolute best. I so wish I could listen to them every morning!!
