I love stuff like this. Like when Farbs and I went to the Cider Day out in Portsmouth last September, that was awesome. I'm not expecting or even hoping to do all or even half of these events, but I think it would rock to try to do at least a few. I would really like to get up to Maine this summer, see the Jewett House (the strawberry festival would be a more than excellent excuse), and I would really like to get to out to Gloucester to see Beauport. Those are the big ones I want to see. My long-term goal is to see all of the houses Historic New England owns, but if I make it to a few a year I'll be happy. (They own Otis House, where I work, and in 2004 I made it to the Codman estate (but not inside the house!), Jackson House, and Roseland Cottage.) I guess historic houses represent the part of history that's most interesting to me: how people actually lived.

Historic houses creep Jorn out, though, so I'm inviting all of you to attend one or more of these events with me! I know a lot of them are pretty far in the future, but think about it!
