I'm so glad. I was going to feel irrationally defenisive if you didn't.

ok lady, i swear i'm going to stop commenting in your journal now, but this has been one of my favorite book series since i was about 11 or 12... i am such a huge fan of young adult sword & sorcery type series!

I think I'm the only fantasy-inclined chick who *didn't* discover this series in adolescence, so this is the first time I've read these! I was hooked on Robin McKinley back then, and Anne McCaffrey and Terry Brooks. I definitely still prefer McKinley's The Hero and The Crown over the Alanna books, if I had to choose just one "girl knight saves the kingdom" type book, but the Alanna ones were really good too. :)

Just so you know, I'm on a book-reading project for this year--I'm posting about every book I read, and adding them all to memories (under books 2005) to keep track, and I'm hoping to read over 75 books this year. If I keep up this rate, I should be all good. But that's why you'll be seeing the obsessive book posts. :)
