So [livejournal.com profile] ricevermicelli called the Coolidge, and apparently they are not going to start selling tickets until they actually open the doors to start seating. They expect a line to form around 6:00. For a midnight showing. That is even more extreme than what we did last night for Serenity. I do not want to do it two nights in a row. Why don't they just sell the darn tickets? Do they really want a crowd of freakish Buffy fans sitting about all night, and do the other stores and residents of the area really want that either? We are annoyed. Also not sure what to do. If they're doing the musical singalong once, I'm sure they'll do it again, and maybe they'd listen to complaint letters. I just don't want to do the waiting in line thing two nights in a row. I didn't get home till past 12:30 last night, so I got nothing done at home. So it's possible I might just end up hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] ricevermicelli tonight and watching the musical on our own. But when I suggested that I forgot about the TV being sort of broken. Dylan has a decent TV but apparently it is out and about. I really don't know what to do.

A suggestion

Go out to a late dinner somewhere near coolidge corner, and when that's done, walk by the theater to see what it looks like?
And if it looks scary, go home and watch the episode instead of staying for the singalong. [ home probably being rv's home, since her tv works. :-) ]

I've never started Buffy. One of these days, I will.

I find it so strange to meet Firefly fans who aren't Buffy fans. (How could anyone not be a Buffy fan???) I mean, since I'm coming at it from the opposite direction.

I'm not much of a TV watcher. The time that other people use to watch TV I use to play computer games. :-) So, much as I love it, I would never watch Firefly as a weekly television series. The whole waiting and scheduling thing is ... not so much for me.

I'm reasonably confident that if I ever *watched* Buffy, I'd enjoy it. But so far, I just haven't gotten around to it. I'll buy the DVDs one of these days. I just have so much else to work on in my life at the moment...

My house might be the best option. It has a lot going for it. It's pink, and therefore easy to locate, and we have a full set of interesting DVDs, and two working televisions.

That sounds promising to me. I just talked to Jorn, and he would be cool with Buffy watching at our place, and he would watch Firefly with us, but I really don't know what the TV situation is. Jorn's TV definitely needs to be fixed--it's still watchable but everyone is purple--and Dylan's TV was lent to someone for something last week and he hasn't retrieved it yet. Can you give me good driving directions to your house?

Awwww man! That totally sucks! Damn.

Well. Huh. I don't have a place of my own to offer.

Let me post to LJ and see if anyone wants to host, I'd be up for meeting up with you and your friend and anyone else who wants to watch the episode on our own. DADRAT it.

I am NOT up for hanging around the theater all night from 6, that just blows.

Any ideas? I've not had anyone respond with a possible hosting location, alas.

I think that I'm going to end up going over to my friend's house and just spending a quiet evening with her. I'm really sorry, I wish the Coolidge thing was less lame. Also I wish the TV in my house wasn't broken, or I'd have a thing here myself. I feel a little uncomfortable inviting you to join me at my friend's house, since we haven't met yet; if it was my house I'd absolutely have you over, but I don't feel right inviting someone I technically don't know to someone else's home. I hope you understand? I think that we might both be attending the same gathering this weekend, though, so we could get a chance to meet in person anyway! I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

Yarg. I was thinking of bringing an out-of-town visitor to it, but slouching around outside in the cold that much just sounds dumb. We'll see.

It was actually quite nice outside last night. Not nice enough that I wanted to sit in a line for six hours, though.

We actually ended up going, and didn't wait in line at all. Bought tickets at 10, got ice cream and hung around C.C. for a while, and then got in line just before they started letting people in. Some people did wait in line for hours, and they did get much better seats, but it didn't seem worth it.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna do it again.

They sold you tickets at 10? Grr. Lying jerks.
