and an update on the parental situation: i haven't gotten a reply email back from my mom, and i think i wrote back to her on wednesday. so either 1) she's been really busy since school started this week and has been too tired to check email, or 2) she's upset with me. i think #1 is a lot more likely, but i'll call this weekend to make sure. i hate it when my relationship with my parents gets weird; they're such good friends mostly. i just hate when they're disappointed in me, i feel so shameful. not that i don't feel shameful about something on a daily basis anyway, but it's really bad when i know my parents are disappointed in me. probably when we talk this weekend everything will be fine.
