books 2005: Wicked, by Gregory Maguire

This book made me so sad. Sad, sad, sad. I mean, I knew going into it that the protagonist was going to end up melted in a bucket of water, but... she wasn't a bad person. Just green, and odd, and smart. Very few of the things that happened to her were her fault! And I was really upset when the dog died!

That book made me sad, too. Did you know they made a Broadway musical out of it?? I haven't heard the music or anything; I'm a bit frightened to, because it seems like they've niced it up, and that would make me cranky.

I had heard about the Broadway musical and I was trying to get my friends to go see it with me last time I was in NYC. But that was before I read the book. Now I would still see it but I don't know how I'd feel about it. It seems like it would make a decent movie but I don't know if I'd like it in song.

i heard the musical before the book. and after reading the book, the musical just pissed me off. i still love the music, but i hate what they did to the story.

also, that book was incredible.
