Jorn found this in his boxes of books, so I decided to read it. Now he can get rid of it, too.

-Yeah, that's one of the not-so-good Holmes novels. Doyle really wanted to write about the American West, so a couple of his Holmes novels get totally sidetracked by flashbacks to the Mormons.

-Recommended Holmes: Study in Scarlet (which has an American West flashback, but you can skip that chapter), Hound of the Baskervilles, and most of the earlier short stories.

This wasn't sidetracked by Mormons, it was rebellions in India. And it was a good story, I just have no need to keep it.

-Hmm, I must be thinking of Valley of Fear.

I thought Valley of Fear was the one with the Pinkertons. I think Study in Scarlet has the Mormon flashbacks.
